Fourth of July Backyard Bash: Last-Minute Rentals to Keep Your Party Cool, Comfortable, and Ready to Go

At the time of writing this, July 4th is just around the corner. And this year is extra special because it marks the 250th birthday of the United States! If ever there was an excuse to party, this surely qualifies. If your guest list has grown bigger than your patio furniture can handle, fear not. Here's how to rent your way to a stress-free, comfortable July 4th celebration even if you're planning last-minute.

Start with Shade & Air

Of course there's a heat dome hovering over Illinois just as we're all getting ready to spend our hours grilling and blasting fireworks with family, friends, and neighbors. But we've got just the rentals to keep you out of the direct sun. For quick and easy shade solutions, throw up 10x10 pop up tents or freestanding 11' market umbrellas. For something a little roomier that offers gathering space, try a 20'x20' frame tent. Pair with sidewall for extra shade in the afternoon and to keep the bugs away from your food.

Rent outdoor fans or misting fans to further reduce the heat, then add a cooling station with cold towels, ice water, and sunscreen. One neat trick for quickly cooling a space is to rent an ice table, fill it with ice, and then blow a fan over it!

Tables, Chairs, and the Basics

Add round tables for seating, banquet tables for food, high-top tables for mingling, and folding chairs to seat your guests. If you want to stay on theme, add red, white, and blue table linens. Trash bins are a wise addition as well.

Fun Additions

Don't let your guests just stand around watching the kids have fun. There are simple, affordable rentals that will allow everyone to have a great time! Yard games are a must to keep your guests entertained. We also recently acquired a Carnival Striker that is over 10' tall! Let everyone test their strength before the fireworks fly. A margarita/slushie machine is another super fun addition to any summer party. We also carry other fun concession equipment including cotton candy machines, popcorn machines, and sno-kone machines.

Don't forget that your 4th of July party is guaranteed to bleed into the night, so lighting of some sort is a must. Consider adding our string lights to your gathering area so you aren't left in the dark after the fireworks finale!

Booking Last Minute? Here's What to Know

Fourth of July is one of the busiest rental weekends of the summer, so availability on tents and cooling equipment can disappear fast. If you're booking within the week:

1. Reach out now before availability disappears entirely!

2. We offer customer pickup and delivery options. If you opt for delivery, we also pick up your items for you at no additional charge.

3. Tents are usually staked, but Illinois requires that all utilities are marked before staking. If you are booking same-week, there is no longer enough time to mark utilities before your tent installation. As such, tents will have to be weighted down, which costs extra. We use concrete weights for ballasting. This does not apply to pop-up tents.
